Laboratories Technology
In the imaging techniques laboratory, students learn about the properties, technology and working methods of ultrasound, X-ray and optical systems. 3D imaging in the form of computed tomography (CT) and digital imaging using computed radiography (CR) are also used. In radiographic procedures, important device parameters such as the modulation transfer function (MTF) and the detective quantum efficiency (DQE) are determined. In ultrasound imaging, medical and technical phantoms are analysed, image properties are determined and flow velocities are measured using Doppler methods. In computed tomography, several radiographic images of a body are calculated to produce superimposition-free sectional images.
