In implementing the gender equality mandate, we are guided by the applicable laws, such as the Bavarian Act on Gender Equality (BayGIG)
The aim of the BayGIG is to achieve equality between women and men in the public sector in Bavaria and to promote this in accordance with the law, while giving priority to suitability, ability and professional performance.

Events

The following events took place in the summer semester 2023:

23.05.2023: Diversity Day
In Ansbach University's first participation in the German Diversity Day, the various dimensions of diversity, such as gender, were addressed in lectures.

10.00-11.00 a.m.: “Junge -->hellblau + Mädchen--> rosa” - Influence of role modeling and marketing” - Office for Equality and Diversity City of Ansbach
Lisa-Marie Buntebarth and Maximilian Staub from the Equality and Diversity Office of the City of Ansbach addressed the influence of early role modeling through so-called gender marketing and countered aspects of diversity-conscious education. The participants also learned that gender stereotypes have changed over the centuries. In the early Middle Ages, for example, the color red was reserved for the male gender. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion on the topic of diversity-conscious parenting styles.
