Education is an elementary topic at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences, which is one of the modern young universities with a scientifically founded and practice-oriented range of courses. These qualities and their relevance are particularly highlighted in the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences Education Award.
The award is given to personalities who use their popularity to an exceptional degree for education and who act sustainably in this field. Personalities are considered who train themselves, support educational projects, facilitate access to education, or make a significant contribution to the positive personality development of others through their actions. The award winner is determined by a jury consisting of representatives of all faculties, the university management, the staff and the students. In addition, VR-Bank Mittelfranken eG supports the activities surrounding the Education Prize and also provides a representative.
The education prize is linked to a sum of money that flows into the prizewinner's education project. The idea of university funding was born. This project gives us as a university and above all the members of this educational institution the opportunity to set an important example. In addition, an auditorium at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences will be named after the current Education Award winner for one year.
With the friendly support of our cooperation partner:
Each year, the Education Prize focuses on a different theme. In 2019, the jury chose the theme "Culture and Education". The new winner of the Education Award at Ansbach University is Lena Meyer-Landrut and will be honoured during the cultural evening in the summer semester. The money of the university members goes to the education project After School Hustle. In workshops, young people meet people from professional careers and develop in various areas.
For the 2018 World Cup year, the theme "Football and Education" was selected as the focus of the Education Award. The winner was Philipp Lahm. The money of the university members went to an educational project of the Philipp Lahm Foundation.
The award ceremony took place as part of a university World Cup event on June 5, 2018. The laudation in Ansbach was given by soccer world champion Pierre Littbarski - the great role model of Philipp Lahm.
