Study overview

The focus of media design is on the development of a design personality. He builds on the modules Image Design, Photo Design and Analogue Photography. Photography as the most important imaging method is analyzed and implemented as a creative and technical tool. The methods of important photographers such as Jeff Wall, Cindy Sherman, Irving Penn, David Carson and others are learned and applied.

Modern methods such as HDR, stereo photography and stop motion extend traditional photography. Mobile applications such as apps for smartphones and tablet computers are new tasks for the media designer. The user experience of mobile applications is investigated and own concepts are created. Art and design history will be examined, as well as current trends in the visual arts.

    Analysis of the photographs of important photo designers like Albert Renger Patsch, Moholy Nagy, Jeff Wall, Cindy Sherman, William Eggleston, Sophie Calle, David Carson, Andreas Gursky
    Creating your own photographs using the methods of these photographers

    theoretical knowledge and practical experience in current developments in the design and implementation of interactive applications such as apps

    Analysis of current multimedia applications with regard to user experience and usability
    Development of own concepts and interactive applications

    Promotion of creativity and development of a design personality by dealing with the history of art and design, current phenomena of art and current technical developments.

    History of style
    expanding technical developments in the field of image such as HDR, stereo photography, stop motion photography

Targets:

    Knowledge of basic and current problems and their solutions in the field of multimedia applications

Contents:

    Analysis and creation of corporate design solutions, style guides, web presentations, trade fair presentations, etc.
