In this laboratory, students learn about the physical processes on which medical technology devices are based and the processing of the resulting measurement data. The focus is on ECG, ultrasound, X-ray diagnostic and optical procedures and devices. For example, the refraction, diffraction and reflection of ultrasound on various materials and material geometries, the attenuation of X-rays by matter and the fluorescence effects of cariogenic bacteria are investigated. The excitation propagation within the heart is also calculated back from the various voltage curves of the ECG and visualised in 3 dimensions.
