In this laboratory, students are introduced to the use of common measuring devices and practical measurement tasks. The basis for the PC ECG device to be created in the biosignal processing laboratory is also created here.

  • Firstly, a special preamplifier is set up to control a PC oscilloscope. In addition to the practical handling of an oscilloscope, students are also confronted with the task of adjusting the measuring range and protective circuits.
  • In the second experiment, students deal with temperature sensors and various ways of evaluating such analogue sensors.
  • Sound card oscilloscopes can normally only display frequencies above 20 Hz and below 20 kHz. Here, the preamplifier is extended to a chopper amplifier. After successfully completing this lab, the students will be able to use their PCs to measure voltage curves from DC voltage to a few hundred Hz.
