PROMOS

Funding is available for:

• Study visits of 1 to 6 months (mainly at partner universities that cannot be funded via ERASMUS+)
• Specialised courses/summer schools from 1 to 6 weeks (mainly at partner universities)

The amount of funding depends on the currently valid funding rates of the PROMOS programme
 

Application requirements

• Applications are open to enrolled students
• with German citizenship or
• without German citizenship, if they will be graduating from a German university
• who have completed the second semester of study at the start of the stay abroad

Selection criteria

• Academic achievements to date
• Relevance of the planned stay for the further course of studies
• Sufficient language skills to successfully complete the stay abroad
• Letter of motivation
• Extracurricular commitment

Selection Committee

The Committee for Internationisation, consisting of representatives from the university leadership, the study programmes, the students, the administration and the International Office, decides twice a year after the application deadline on the awarding of the grants. The scholarship holders will be informed about the grants 4 weeks after the application deadline.

Application deadlines

• 30 November for the following summer semester (1st application period)
• 15 May for the following winter semester (2nd application period)

Procedure

1^st Application period:

1. Application deadline 30 November
2. Confirmation of receipt will be sent after receipt of application
3. Applications will be forwarded to the selection committee until mid-December
4. Selection decision

2^nd Application period:

1. Application deadline 15 May
2. Confirmation of receipt will be sent after receipt of application
3.  Applications will be forwarded to the selection committee until early June
4. Selection decision
