GO YOUR WAY

The application phase for the new GO YOUR WAY vintage has begun!

Until August 31, committed and motivated young people with a migrant background between 19 and 29 years can apply for the scholarship and mentoring program.
The heart of the ideal scholarship program are the mentors, who are available to the scholarship holders as advisors and door openers for a period of two years.
In addition to mentoring, a varied workshop and seminar programme is also offered.

Information on the programme and the online application can be found on the website: www.deutschlandstrifung.net

German National Academic Foundation

Support for students

The Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes is also looking for bright minds in 2018: Students in their first and second semesters can apply for a scholarship at Germany's largest organisation for the promotion of gifted students until 13 February 2018.

In particular, we would like to encourage those candidates who are the first to study in their families.

The next registration phase begins on 9 January 2018 at 8:00 am.
Further information can be found at: www.studienstiftung.de/studienfoerderung/selbstbewerbung

Hans Böckler Foundation

The Hans Böckler Foundation is the co-determination, research and study support organisation of the DGB.

Since 2007, the Hans Böckler Foundation has explicitly awarded approximately 30% of its scholarships each year to applicants who are socially committed but whose parents cannot support them in their study plans through the Böckler Action on Education. This is a contribution to more equal opportunities in the higher education system.

About 70% of the scholarships awarded as part of the Böckler-Aktion-Bildung go to young people with a migration background. With the Böckler-Aktion-Bildung, the Hans Böckler Foundation awards scholarships to young people who could not otherwise afford to study. It is important to us that the applicants have not only performed well at school, but have also volunteered their time at school and would like to continue doing so during their studies.
Further information can be found on the homepage!

Friedrich Ebert Foundation

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is the oldest political foundation in Germany. It is committed to the fundamental values of social democracy and is therefore committed to fair access to educational opportunities. It supports young, committed people from Germany and abroad who are studying or doing their doctorate. To be brought along: Commitment to society, idealistic attachment to the values of social democracy and good to very good performance. First-year academics, women and young people with a migration background are given special consideration in the selection process. Similar to BAföG, financial support for German and foreign students in basic education is based on their parents' income. In addition, these scholarship holders receive a flat-rate study allowance of EUR 300 per month.

Doctoral students receive EUR 1,350 per month. In addition, there is a monthly lump sum for research costs of 100 euros.

Foreign scholarship holders receive 650,- EUR per month for basic funding (750,- EUR for Master's degrees) and 1,000,- EUR per month for doctoral funding. At the time of application, foreign students must be studying in Germany, submit their first graded certificates of achievement and have good German language skills, even if they are studying in English.

The Max Weber Programme aims at professional and personal development. In addition to their university studies, scholarship holders can also take advantage of a special additional scientific offering in the form of events to deepen their specialist knowledge and for interdisciplinary exchange. This is supplemented by professional events. Individual mentoring by mentors at Bavarian universities enables early involvement in research and insight into other areas of excellence.

Scholarship holders of the Max Weber Programme receive financial support in the form of an education allowance of €1,290 per semester and additional financial support for stays abroad.

Presentation of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk (ELES)

The Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk (ELES) supports particularly talented Jewish students and doctoral candidates. This support is based on the commitment and self-development opportunities of our scholarship holders. We strengthen Jewish identity, a sense of responsibility and the ability to engage in dialogue through measures of idealistic support. They should be encouraged to help shape the future. The interdisciplinary ELES Colleges offer scholarship holders the opportunity to exchange ideas with international students and doctoral candidates on a multidisciplinary basis and to reflect on contemporary issues in the context of their own religious tradition. Guest lectures and excursions complement the programme.

Target group: Students and doctoral candidates

Selection criteria: According to the guidelines of the BMBF, ELES supports particularly talented Jewish students and doctoral candidates with German citizenship, citizenship of an EU member state or the status of a foreign national with a foreign education as defined by §8 BAföG for their education at state and state-recognised universities, i.e. universities, universities of applied sciences as well as art and music universities in Germany, the European Union and Switzerland. Applications from non-Jewish students are possible.

Application and deadlines:

30 April for admission to the doctoral programme

15 June for admission to student support for the winter semester

15 December for admission to student support for the summer semester
