Applied Human-Machine-Communication

The "Social Robotics" project focuses on human-machine-communication. Pepper, a small humanoid robot programmed to analyze humans and their facial expressions and gestures and to react accordingly to these emotional states, is the main actor and an integral part of the research.

Pepper will also be used in teaching starting in the winter semester 2019/2020 and will give a lecture in which he will actively ask students questions on topics of media psychology. He will explain facts and pose exercises. Students should get in direct contact with Pepper, preferably even in a proactive dialogue.

Pepper will also be used for various research projects in the field of human-computer interaction.

Pepper´s Friday

Since September 2019 Pepper also has his own podcast. In cooperation with the PR & Marketing department and the TV studio, Pepper moderated short contributions. Every week Pepper goes on air on the social media channels and the university's website. Here you can find all episodes of "Pepper´s Friday" (only in German language):
